Destination Races has announced that approval was received by Yamhill County officials for a significant course change on the 2012 Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon. And its good news for those who prefer the harder pavement to softer gravel! This change is designed take runners on a scenic route which incorporates three new roads, two of which are paved. Instead of diverting runners off Hendricks Rd at mile 8 onto a 3.8 mile gravel loop, they will now be taking running further down Hendricks to Mineral Springs Rd. and heading south to Jernstedt Rd. then taking another right on Old McMinnville Hwy back up to Main Street, one half mile from the original finish line on Pine St. in Carlton. Both Mineral Springs Rd. and Old McMinnville Highway are paved, therefore the course now has only slightly over one mile of dirt/gravel road. There are three water stations along the new sections of road. View the new course
